What you are getting inside your ears and head is the voice of hundreds and thousands of women in méxico (mostly cdmx) talking, singing, shouting, chatting, crying, telling, whispering and expressing through the loudest and the most expandable way of being, sound.

We live in a country where there are 10 women killed everyday, this are feminicides, acts of terminal violence conducted specially by men to women. the reason; WE ARE WOMEN.

This is the most lethal of the patriarchal oppressions, but there are so many types of violence that we the women have to go through every day, everywhere and all around.

In recent months things have been getting louder, everything is louder and bigger, violence is louder, so our voices are louder too.

These are different accusations and complains against the order of patriarchy.

We are uncomfortable women, I mean, these, our voices, are not voices of comfort, these are the voices of the women who agreed on making everything uncomfortable because we have learned that nothing changes when we keep it quiet, peaceful, mexico is not a country ruled by peace.

So this is us expanding our fight to every space that there is to inhabit, we will not be quiet, we will be everywhere, we won’t be comfortably ignored.

I mixed different audio files, field recordings, protests, chats with friends, conferences, testimonies, classes, street recordings and other material that I found on my IG timeline from march 8th, I did this so I could build this massive fountain of sound, I purposely worked on the files so words can’t be clearly heard, no discourses, it’s just the matter, the voices, the deep pronunciation of pain and the demands of freedom caught in the intention of what is said, not the words but the sound, energy, our deepest and most expandable way of being.

My name is Daniela Solis and I'm a mexican artist based in Morelos, México. I work with sound and visuals (video, photo and overhead projection). I’m interested on the development of live performance and the power of sound in space. I started making music on 2017 and I have been experimenting with video and visual stimulus since I was very young.

Today I focus my work on the experimentation of both, light and sound and the subjects that matter in my life both political and emotional.
